A sad-looking woman who is bleeding from her eyes as the result of painful oralism. She is like a fish hooked on bait, being forced to abide by “normal” people’s standards and assimilation expectations.

Fish is once again shown here, but in a negative way. An identical-looking fish is below the surface, with blank, lifeless eyes, representing the thousands of students forced to assimilate by way of oralism without sign language.

Fireflies surround the woman, representing Deaf people. Just like Deaf people, fireflies are dwindling in number as a result of so-called modern advances.

They now struggle to find each other to maintain their population and community, which has an adverse effect on the earth.
